Eurostar tickets for winter services to the French Alps on sale from 19th July
Skiers and snowboarders seeking effortless travel to the slopes can book their winter escape with Eurostar, as tickets go on sale for high-speed travel from London St Pancras and Ashford International to the heart of the French Alps on 19th July 2017. While other holidaymakers spend hours stuck in time consuming coach transfers to and from the airport, Eurostar travellers can relax with a hassle-free journey in spacious surroundings on board as they are whisked closer to the resorts. A generous baggage allowance leaves plenty of room for a winter wardrobe, with each passenger allowed two suitcases plus hand luggage, and skis or snowboards at no extra cost. Eurostar services direct to the French Alps stop at Moûtiers, Aime-la-Plagne and Bourg-St-Maurice, making it easy to access many of Europe’s top resorts including Courcheval, La Plagne, Tignes, Meribel, and Les Arcs. The 2017/18 seasonal ski services will run weekly from 22 December 2017 until 7 April 2018, with fares from £75 each way. - Friday overnight services provide another two days on the pistes, arriving on a Saturday morning to be welcomed by quieter slopes as other holidaymakers start their transfers back to the airports.
- Saturday daytime travel provides a stress-free journey from London, so travellers can sit back and relax in comfortable surroundings as they enjoy the start of their holiday watching the French countryside pass by.
- Saturday overnight trains return following a popular introduction last year, providing a third option and more capacity during peak half term and Easter school holidays. Combine it with a Friday night outbound journey to squeeze every snowdrop out of a ski holiday!

- Eurostar is the high-speed train service linking St Pancras International, Ebbsfleet International, Ashford International, Paris, Brussels, Lille, Calais, Disneyland Resort Paris, Avignon and the French Alps.
- The current Eurostar train was first introduced into service in 1994 carrying 750 passengers and operating at speeds of up to 300kph. Since then, the fleet of 28 trains has carried more than 150 million passengers between London and the Continent. Following their refurbishment these trains will continue to form a core part of the Eurostar fleet. The new e320 will carry around 900 passengers at speeds of up to 320kph.
- Eurostar was established in 1994 as a partnership between three railway companies: SNCF, SNCB and LCR (London and Continental Railways). On 1 September 2010, Eurostar became a single, unified corporate entity owned by three shareholders: SNCF, SNCB and LCR. LCR’s holding was transferred to the Treasury in 2014, and sold by the UK government to a consortium comprising Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure on 28th May 2015.
- Eurostar is a founder member of Railteam, a partnership between Europe’s leading high-speed train operators that is developing simpler ways to book and travel on the fast-expanding, European high-speed rail network.
- Eurostar and Eurotunnel are entirely separate companies. Eurostar operates high-speed passenger trains, while Eurotunnel operates vehicle shuttle services and the Channel Tunnel itself. Eurostar is Eurotunnel’s biggest customer.
