Spring is the perfect time to visit Paris. The city comes into full bloom within its stunning parks and gardens. The season also kicks off with Paris Fashion Week, where celebrities, influencers and fashionistas takeover the city from 28th February to 6th March. Paris is marking its fashion heroes throughout March and April with The Palais Galliera paying tribute to the fashion designer Alber Elbaz, who sadly passed away in April 2021. The exhibition called Loves Brings Love will open from 5th March. The 60th anniversary of the first runway show by Yves Saint Laurent will also be marked by six prestigious Parisian museums. The museums trail will exhibit the designers work from 29th January until September.

Brussels in bloom

One of the best places to visit in Brussels during this time of year is The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken, which opens up to the public for two weeks a year in May – dates of opening are yet to be announced by the palace. For outside excursions, discover the array of incredible markets selling all sorts of goodies. For those who love finding an antique bargain, rummage through the Jeu de Balle Square flea market, which is open Tuesday to Sunday 7am-2/3pm. Or for the foodies, discover the third biggest market in Europe right in Brussels – take your senses on a world tour of flavour at Market de Midi on Sunday's from 7-1pm.

Lille is a masterpiece

UK travellers can be in the French city of Lille in under an hour and 30 minutes. The city is an art lovers dream with the largest fine-arts museum in France, Palais des Beaux-Arts Museum, hosting an exhibition as part of the city’s cultural season – Lille3000. This year’s event theme is “Utopia”, dedicating art, music and performance exhibitions around nature. The start date is Saturday 14th May, kicking off with the traditional parade in the city centre. Lille Grand Palais will also be exhibiting Lille Art Up – an expo filled with incredible contemporary artists from 10-13th March, which is not one to miss.
