10 January 2024
10 January 2024, London - Following the launch of its new brand, website, app and loyalty programme, Eurostar has created contemporary accessories to update employee’s uniforms. These accessories are the first step for Eurostar employees to display the colours of the brand’s new identity before wearing the new joint uniforms, which is expected to change in 2025.
In addition to the updated lanyards and name badges, Eurostar's 2,100 uniformed staff members, operating both on trains and at stations, will now also receive ties and neckerchiefs in the brand's fresh colours — navy and plum — accented with the new logo. These new accessories, designed to be unisex, seamlessly complement the current staff uniforms in both colour and style, allowing for effortless coordination and wear. Eurostar's intent is to harmonize the uniform style among colleagues and enhance their visibility across all stations, aligning with the new slogan 'Together we go further'.
Made for the employees, by the employees
The development of these new accessories involved close collaboration with around 80 Eurostar ambassadors, representing diverse teams across Eurostar stations in Brussels, Paris, Lille, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and London. Through a series of workshops conducted over several months, these representatives had the opportunity to share their preferences and concerns on the colour schemes and designs. After careful consideration, two colour options—navy blue and plum—were selected, complemented by 'The Spark,' a key element of the fresh Eurostar identity and logo.
Focus on sustainability
Eurostar is committed to sustainability in all areas of the business. To minimise its carbon footprint, the neckerchiefs were crafted in France, while the ties were produced in Italy. As part of a recycling initiative, Eurostar has worked with a fashion school in London by donating old scarves for students to use in their projects to design new outfits.
